Name: Judy Johnson
Job title: Channel Account Manager
Previous role:
Channel Partnership / Business Development Manager most recently for Stanley Black and Decker Group and prior to that for some time in Hewlett Packard.
Prior to that, I worked for Hewlett Packard in the IT channel where I managed my own partners.
Top achievement at previous role:
Most recently for Stanley Black and Decker, I helped set up an entirely new channel team, onboarded partners and brought onboard new vendors to support the portfolio.
Before that, I spent a long time in the IT channel working for Hewlett Packard where I managed my partners.
What key skills do you bring to IPCortex?
I would say that it’s persuading and guiding third parties such as resellers/installers to work in partnership and position the solutions I represent to their customers – increasing revenue and profit for both.
Best characteristic?
The best characteristic is probably also my worst which is I am chirpy and chatty – good for the role but can sometimes be a lot for the office! However, I am also pragmatic and mostly patient which is essential when working in partnerships.
What has been the best thing about IPCortex so far?
The best thing about IPCortex so far is the people and how they have welcomed me to the team – they are open and there are some seriously clever people on the development team – hopefully, at some stage, I will understand what they are doing.
What do you hope to achieve in year 1?
Year one – onboard quality partners that add to our/their revenue and profit but also our brand recognition in particularly in the SMB IT reseller community.
What message would you like to share with partners?
These solutions could add and diversify your offerings and share of wallet with your end-users – with a famously low TCO and great customer experience.
Favourite memory over the last 5 years?
My favourite memory over the last five years was a holiday with my extended family; all 10 of us sat around the table laughing – it was brilliant, and I had to sneak in the first time I met my new granddaughter Madison.
If you had a superpower what would it be?
The ability to eat everything I want and not put on weight in particular curry yum! On a serious note, the ability to make sure all of our worlds’ people are fed and watered.
Favourite sports team memory?
Best sports memory was watching my dad 12 weeks after a major stroke in his mid 70’s – get back into his Judo suit and train the kids in his club – truly remarkable!
Favourite movie and why?
The Shawshank Redemption – why? watch it and you will know.
