Many exciting opportunities lay ahead of IPCortex and the person at the helm is the newly appointed MD, Bhavesh Parmar.
To some of you, you’ll already be familiar with Bhavesh and his exciting new vision, but for those of you who are not, we felt it essential to sit down with him and understand who he is and get under the skin of his vision for IP Cortex. Growth and profitability is very much the objective and Bhavesh certainly has the track record to meet that goal.
Tell us about your previous experience
I’ve held a number of leadership roles in software vendors focussed on SaaS, mobile voice and data-service optimisation; and subscriber analytics. My most recent role was the Chief Executive Officer of Telsis – an emerging UCaaS software vendor which was acquired in 2020 by Gamma Comms Plc. I was responsible for building all aspects of Telsis’ presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, I also scaled a number of venture-backed start-ups in tech e.g. Mobile Systems International (later acquired by Ericsson), Innowireless (Kosdaq) and Spire Technology Inc. I am also currently a Director of Homes in Mind which is a mental health charity.
What kind of leader do you see yourself as?
I keep pushing myself and our teams to consider how best we can use this [COVID-19] inflection point to reimagine our potential together. This moment has made us focus on things that really matter: family, employees, customers and our wider society. In this context, I see my leadership as being more about getting the basics right with human interaction, speed of execution and incremental innovation in a way that is both useful for our customers and scalable for IPCortex.
Do you have a business leader that you admire and inspires you?
I think effective leaders inspire others to go further then they thought possible. Someone that springs to mind is Elon Musk. Not only is he visionary, but he also cares about making a difference to the world; genuinely cares about his products and frequently responds personally to support questions from his customers. It’s his authenticity that I like – what you see is what you get, no airs and graces and always in touch with his cutomers.
What quote do you find most inspiring in your professional career?
“Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better and work towards it” –Jim Rohn
In your opinion, what is the next big development (or prediction) for communication solutions?
Improvements in real time analytics will drive customer engagement to a new level by seamlessly optimising their experience through CX insights so that businesses can have more personal, richer and ultimately more impactful communications with their clients. I see IPCortex as a key enabler in this domain.
Why did you choose to join IPCortex?
IPCortex has a great core tech stack that is open, secure and scalable. It sits at the vortex of comms, customer experience and emerging technologies and in a market that is growing. We have a real opportunity to influence the agenda on how SMEs communicate with their customers and I’m really excited about how we can help deepen these interactions.
What will you be focusing on in the coming months?
My focus is simple, to ensure we are ready and able to capitalise on the exciting opportunities that lie ahead of us: growing our tech stack in a way that makes sense for our customers, incremental innovation on key areas of workflow and scaling the business by working with and through our channel partners.
Do you have any hobbies when you’re not working?
I I do have a busy home life, but I love it as I get to spend time with my wonderful partner and 3 beautiful daughters. I also enjoy running and travelling.
A final message to our partners
Our channel partners are our lifeblood and we never take them for granted. We fully respect their trust in us and as the lines between traditional telecom and IT resellers continue to blur, many seek collaborate partnerships with innovative vendors to help drive their customer reach and sales revenue. At IPC we are working hard to create more supportive and deeper relationships with existing and new partners to spark mutual growth.
