Posted 01 Jun 2021

Following on from the appointment of our New Channel Account Manager Chris Bates, IPCortex has hired Marketing Manager Billy Mahoney to the team. Billy’s focus is on working closely with the technical and commercial teams to ensure that partners needs are not just met, but exceeded.

Get to know Billy more below as he answers a number of questions.

Name: Billy Mahoney

Job title: Marketing Manager

Previous role:

Marketing Coordinator at Aerial Direct

Fondest memory in your previous role:

I was fortunate enough to be part of the team that conceptualised and brought to market the Connect VoIP product. To be a part of a very intelligent and experienced group of people, working closely with them from initial definition and planning, right through to the launch and putting in the long shifts to make it the best it could be, truly was a great experience.

What key skills do you bring to IPCortex?

I strongly believe that anything can be achieved with a positive mental attitude and a strong work ethic, and I have both in abundance.

Best characteristics?

Determination and persistence.

How have your first few weeks at IPCortex been?

It has flown by so quickly, I’ve got stuck in straight away, asking a number of questions, trying to understand partners needs and how IPCortex operates.

What has been the best thing about IPCortex so far?

Championing what Chris said, the best thing has been the people. All very nice, very friendly, very supportive. There is a wealth of talent and quality in all departments.

What do you hope to achieve in year 1?

Year 1 for me is always an assessment, evaluation and planning year. Trying to ask as many questions as I possibly can without disrupting people too much, trying to understand existing processes and business practises. By the end of year 1, I want to have worked with the relevant teams to have built robust and flexible processes to enable partners to achieve more, whether that is through better, more frequent smarter communication or through making it easier to find key collateral.

What message would you like to share with partners?

There is a lot going here at IPCortex, a lot of development and a number of interesting opportunities. In order to deliver an optimal value proposition to partners we need to now work closely together to ensure that we are meeting your requirements and expectations.

Favourite memory ever or last 5 years?

There are a number of great memories, it’s hard to nail down one, but it would be either watching Chelsea winning the Champions League in 2012 or casting our memories back to the 2018 World Cup, drinking in the pub with my friends, watching England vs Columbia.

Favourite movie and why?

The Great Gatsby. Why? The film speaks for itself.
